My Story

I’m Sam, a wildlife cameraman and storyteller from Dorset.

For years I have travelled the world filming wildlife for documentaries and cinema films. I have worked around the globe from remote rainforests to the antarctic peninsular. I have spent years chasing the moments that show how extraordinary our home planet is and how critical our connection to nature truly is.

I set out with a goal to one day work on documentaries with Sir David Attenborough. It took me many years, but I have had the amazing privilege of working on many of his documentaries and films.

Although my job has taken me all over the world, every time I come home the same thing happens. I fall more and more in love with Dorset and the place I have been lucky to call home.

A new project of mine is - ‘Sam’s Natural Habitat’. It was born from my adventures and the insights I have gained. It’s about being present and looking at home, the ‘ordinary’ and the space around you differently. Its about small adventures close to home, and the perspectives that nature gifts us when we stop and look. Through children’s books, films, and guides, I want to make it easier for families and individuals to discover the magic in the everyday: the worm pulling a leaf underground, the acorn waiting to become a 600-year-old oak, the fossil hidden in a pebble on the beach.

This isn’t about escaping to faraway places. It’s about seeing where we already are through a different lens. My mission is simple: to inspire care for the living world, one story at a time.
